A Glimpse into the Textile Heritage of the Bhoi Tribe

A 120-year-old dancers’ waistband of the Khat-ar Lyngdoh belonging to the Bhoi tribe of Meghalaya.

The khmat (eye) designs as well as many other geometric patterns are commonly found woven on the dancers’ waistband of the Bhoi tribe of Meghalaya with exemplary designs displaying the tribes rich textile history.
