Meghalaya’s rich culture is a blend of teachings, traditions and culture from many tribes and sub-tribes of the state.

Here is a picture of two beautiful ladies from Mustoh, Shella wearing their traditional dress.

Locally famous for Khneng embroidery, this almost forgotten art is stitched into the traditional dress made of eri silk like the ‘jaiñpïen' (wrap-around) and shawl of the people of Mustoh.

A single line of a thick band is stitched vertically on one side of the ‘jaiñpïen’ and two lines, of Khneng embroidery, is stitched horizontally on the shawl.
