Celebrating Ri-Bhoi’s Cultural Heritage

Ri-Bhoi’s rich culture is visible from the tribe’s traditional dresses.

Here is a picture of youths belonging to Raid Nongtluh of Umden, in their traditional wear.

The lady in a traditional Kyrshah Thohriawstem made from Eri Silk draped from the shoulder and tied around the waist, paired with traditional ornament U Paila and a traditional striped wrap around.

The young man is wearing a Ka Jymphong Shad, a black sleeveless jacket with tassels at the bottom end, U Paila, ka Jainspong which is a turban and Ka Jainboh or a dhoti.
