The village weavers in Meghalaya, mainly from Ri-Bhoi District, use eco-friendly natural ingredients for the dyeing of Eri Silk.
Women from nearby forests or their backyards collected most ingredients, such as flowers, leaves, vegetable peels, and tree bark.
Natural dyeing is a community process, and the womenfolk come together to carry out this process to help and learn from each other.
