Daniel Syiem is one of the pioneer designers from Meghalaya who uses Eri silk (Ryndia) fabric to create clothes. He launched Daniel Syiem's Ethnic Fashion House (DSEFH) in 2011 to promote Ryndia.

Ryndia is a dense and fine silk, commonly woven by weavers in Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya.
