The Eri cocoon produces many shorter threads; the somewhat irregular thread gives Eri silk the look and feel of a mixture of wool and cotton, while it has the softness of silk.

Eri silk is also known to have isothermal properties, it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter and can be worn throughout all seasons.
