During the visit of Shri. Sudhakar Dalela, Ambassador of India to Bhutan and his team to enhance bilateral ties on trade, cultural, and tourism fronts, they were deeply impressed by the showcased work of the Department of Textiles, Meghalaya. Members of the department were extended an invitation to Thimphu to deliver lectures on Eri Silk and Natural Dyes. It was stated that the Royal Family in Bhutan utilizes Eri Silk fabrics with natural dyes for ceremonial events, sourced externally due to the absence of local rearing and spinning activities.

His Excellency expected further meaningful engagements with the State Government in general & Dept of Textiles in particular.
