Reviving 'Ksai Sohtrun': The Art of Pina Fibre Weaving in Tynrong

'Ksai Sohtrun' or Pina Fibre is extracted from pineapple leaves and this form of thread-making has existed for hundreds of decades in a remote village called Tynrong, in Meghalaya.

This almost-forgotten art of Pina weaving has recently garnered limelight with interventions by Duia Trailblazers & Fashion Academy Shillong to bring this traditional art to life.
