The Versatility of Loinloom in Garo Tribe Weaving

Most of the Garo tribe women weave with Cotton and Eri silk in a back-strap loom also called ‘Loinloom.’

Handmade with cheap and portable materials usually bamboo, Loinloom is lightweight and simple to use.

This loom is still a must-have tool among local weavers as it produces diverse designs and textures often used to weave ethnic and traditional fabric.
